Défilés Philosophique I, II, III, IV et V

Le défilé philosophique raconte une histoire du corps sous la forme d’un défilé de mode. Comme un cours de philosophie sur le corps tel qu’il se définit dans la philosophie occidentale des Lumières à la fin du XXe siècle, soclé et acté sur un catwalk.

Onze garçons en talons et une fille pieds nus, vêtus d’un slip blanc brodé du nom d’un philosophe défilent une pancarte à la main sur laquelle on peut lire une phrase sur le corps écrite par ce philosophe. On commence avec Descartes qui compare le corps à une machine et on termine avec Judith Butler qui affirme que le corps est un lieu où l’on performe le genre. Ces corps performent une histoire du corps qui se définit lui-même comme performatif. Si tous les hommes portent des chaussures à talons c’est pour modifier leur manière de marcher. Souligner ironiquement que la philosophie était l’affaire principale des hommes pendant des siècles, et qu’elle change aussi en accueillant depuis peu les femmes. Création dans le cadre des Rendez-Vous du Forum au centre Pompidou Le Banquet de Blanche-Neige, une proposition de Catherine Baÿ.

The philosophical parade. . The philosophical parade tells an history of the body in philosophy under the form of a fashion parade . Eleven boys in high heels and a girl barefoot, wearing an embroidered white underwear whith the name of a philosopher parading a placard on which we can read a sentence written on the body by this philosopher. It begins with Descartes that compares the body to a machine and finish with Judith Butler argues that the body is a place where one performs his gender. These bodies perform a history of the body that defines itself as performative. If all men wear high heels it is to change the way they walk to remind them philosophy was the main case of men for centuries, and it also changes recently welcoming women.

Creation as part of the Rendez-Vous du Forum at the Centre Pompidou The Banquet of Snow White, a proposal of Catherine Bay.
